Things to Talk About With Your Girlfriend

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Ken Marlborough Talking is one of the best ways of getting to know more about someone, and talking to your girlfriend is the best way to forge tight bonds with her. It is very possible that years down the line, the two of you will remember many of the things you will say to each other in these younger days. These fond memories play an integral part in most long-running relationships. One of the best ways of having a good, healthy and wholesome chat with your girlfriend is to start with small talk. The small talk will give you a general picture about her likes and dislikes, as well as what she would like to discuss and what she would rather leave alone. Once the small talk gives you a general idea, you can go ahead and discuss your common likes and dislikes. A wholesome chat can also end up in a decision to do something you can enjoy together. For example, a chat about the latest movie or play can actually end up in the two of you standing in queue to buy tickets for it. As you begin to form opinions of your girlfriend during the course of conversation, she in turn does the same. Therefore, you should think carefully before speaking and taking up subjects that might be repugnant to her. Religion and politics, for example, are subjects which often don’t gel well with breakfast, lunch or dinner. Unless and until you are open and ready for an active debate, those topics shouldn’t be touched with a barge pole. Talking about it, however, gives you an indication of your girlfriend’s political and religions leanings. A chat is one of the best ways to express your love to your girlfriend. But you should never utter the words “I love you” unless you mean it. This is because false love is very easily found out by women. In addition, most girlfriends enjoy hearing it, but dont make yours hear it all the time or she may begin to find the otherwise-well-meaning utterance tiresome. Girlfriends provides detailed information about girlfriends, finding girlfriends, gifts for girlfriends, and more. Girlfriends is affiliated with Relationships. Quit Playing The Blame Game

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Tracie Johanson Remember when we were 7 years old? At that age, any insult (no matter how mean or despicable) could instantly be nullified by simply replying “I’m rubber, you’re glue….whatever you say bounces off me and sticks on you!” Even though we’re not seven years old anymore, insults still aren’t any fun. Many of us thought we’d outgrow name-calling and the ‘blame game’, but here we are, fully grown adults, still playing those games. We may not all be calling each other names, but many of us are still playing the ‘blame game’. We blame others for our weight gain. We blame others for our failed diet. We blame others for our perceived failures. But are others at fault? Sometimes what we say to others ‘bounces off them and sticks on us’, to paraphrase the old rhyme. While we’ll admit that genetics do play a huge role in our weight, it’s also true that each of us makes daily choices that impact the number on the scale. So who (or what?) are we blaming for our weight? Genetics? Fast food? A busy lifestyle? Ice cream? Family? Work? The bottom line is that while we may be able to legitimately blame someone (or something) else for our current weight, we are all in control of our future weight. Each of us knows how we arrived at our current weight. Perhaps we’ve always been heavy. Perhaps that weight crept on during the last few years. Or, maybe, we were thin until we hit age _____ and then the pounds started piling on. However we arrived at our current weight, the fact is that we’re here. We cannot change the past. But, we do have control over the future. No matter how hard we try, we can’t change what we ate yesterday. In the same way, we cannot go back in time and alter the amount of exercise we got yesterday. The past is behind us. But the good news is that the future hasn’t happened yet. Each of us can choose to eat better tomorrow. Each of us can choose to exercise tomorrow. For many Americans, a major reason why we’re are not getting thinner is our tendency to get ’stuck in the past’. Too many of us are wasting our time trying to place the blame for our weight on someone else, rather than planning to do something about it. A perfect example are the lawsuits now pending against fast food restaurants. Thousands of people in the United States have decided that fast food restaurants are to blame for their weight. Are they right? Maybe, but probably not. This article isn’t the place to judge whether or not restaurants are to blame for the obesity epidemic in our nation. Instead, the point we need to learn here is that if we want to get results, we must stop worrying about the past and start living for the future. So, while some of us may have legitimate complaints about the past, let’s ask ourselves if that really matters. Life isn’t fair. Some of us are genetically inclined to be heavy, just as some of us are genetically inclined to get cancer. Either way, it’s not fair. But rather than throw up our hands in dispair and give up all hope, let’s take control of our future!! Remember that we cannot change our past but we all have some degree of control over our future. The moral of the story is to start today. Sure, maybe we’ve skipped a few (or a few dozen) workouts. Sure, maybe we ate four servings of cheesecake yesterday. We can’t change the past, so let’s focus on the future. The past may be full of bad diets, skipped workouts and expanding waistlines…..but the future is yet to come. Let’s stop the blame, take control of our future, and get busy. It’s our choice. Bipolar Depression Overview: Discovering Bipolar Disorder

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Rick Seager Many illnesses abound the world today. Before, people live longer and with only a handful of illnesses. But today’s times are very much different because of the many changes that take place. New technology has brought new things into this world. Many inventions, new foods, and all the new stuff that people now enjoy seem to contribute to the many illnesses suffered by millions of people; not to mention the different day to day experiences that people encounter as they go through life. The typical life of an individual begins as he wakes up in the morning. He then goes through his life everyday doing his routine activities. He goes to work, meet deadlines, attend meetings, and deals with different kinds of people. At home, he has to do chores, and spend time with the family. He also does other activities like going to the supermarket, church, and other important places. And not only that, he encounters different situations everyday that either he welcomes or resents. Many factors contribute to making an individual ill. Individuals suffering from bipolar depression have to deal with such condition all the days of their life. Talking about such disorder can be very embarrassing for some people but this should not be so since the illness can be managed especially if you know how to do it. Before, the condition was popularly called manic depression. But now, it is called bipolar depression because of the two extreme poles that make up the condition. A good example is the globe having a north and a south pole. When an individual experiences different symptoms associated with one pole, then he’s having an episode. Bipolar Disorder Episode The episodes are divided into four types: depression, mania, hypo-mania, and mixed mood. When a person feels depressed, he or she feels sad and don’t want to do the usual things. Those that exhibit mania usually start having a high feeling, and become angry and irritable. They are the ones who tend to do risky things. The milder form is known as hypo-mania which can lead to either depression or mania; this episode also starts with feeling good and the person may think that more things are done. Others who have episodes with feelings of depression and mania mixed together is called mixed mood. Bipolar Disorder Symptoms Symptoms are divided into depression and mania. Depression symptoms include feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, and guilt. These individuals sleep too much or too little and experience changes in appetite or weight. They always feel tired, restless, and can’t make a sound decision. The worst case is when the person thinks about suicide and death. Mania symptoms include an increase in the level of energy, racing thoughts, sleeps less, easily distracted, more self-confident, more talkative, focused but accomplishes little, and often do extreme or unusual activities. Bipolar Disorder Types The four main types of bipolar depression are the following: Bipolar I - this type involves manic and mixed episodes, as well as major episodes of depression. The bipolar patient may experience more than one episode for several days, weeks, or even months. Seasonal changes also seem to affect the symptoms exhibited by the person.Bipolar II - this involves major episodes of depression and a hypo-mania episode. Normal functioning can also take place in between the said episodes.Cyclothymic Disorder - this is a fluctuating disturbance in mood with hypo-mania and depression episodes. This is considered the milder form since episodes do not occur regularly and happens for shorter and less severe times..Not Specified - this is a treatable disorder and the symptoms exhibited by the individual does not fall into any of the three types mentioned; the disorder varies from one person to another. There is no known cause of bipolar disorder depression . Some say that it has something to do with genetics. But that alone is not enough to cause such disorder. Perhaps other factors contribute to the disorder and that is why further studies are underway. People from different races, ethnic groups, children, teenagers, or young/older adults can suffer from bipolar depression. The brain cells of each individual don’t work normally if there is an imbalance in the neurotransmitters. These are special chemicals that seem to be involved in the disorder. If you think you’re experiencing bipolar depression symptoms, then you’d better check with your doctor as soon as possible. Rick Seager was diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years ago but he was determined not to let it take control of his life. So he fought back and has gone on to become the bestselling author of the ebook “Bipolar Disorder Uncovered” Check out his website now for more info =>http://www.BipolarDisorderUncovered.com/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rick_Seager http://EzineArticles.com/?Bipolar-Depression-Overview:-Discovering-Bipolar-Disorder&id=434602 ambien dangers ambien dangers ambien and side effects diflucan ativan

Take Your Time

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By Yair Czitrom How long do you think it takes to really get to know someone to the point where you could marry them? Is 1 month long enough? Is 6 months long enough? Is 1 year long enough? What do you think of people who believe in love at first site? Is it infatuation or genuine love? I dont intend to answer these questions, but how you answer them will impact how you approach dating and relationships. However, no matter what your answer to the questions above there are some things that you should be aware of. First, rushing into a relationship makes you much more vulnerable for a bad relationship. If you take your time getting to know someone you will learn about their good and bad points. If you watch their behaviors over time you will get a feel for how they handle pressure and stress, how they are with children, how they are with their family, how they treat you when you are with their friends. Second, quick engagements are typically so couples can have sex and SEX alone doesnt make a relationship. Third, most people who are abusive want a quick engagement and marriage because they cannot hide their true behaviors and feelings too long (yes this is a generalization, but it is often true). Fourth, time will let YOU know if you are dating the person you feel most comfortable with. Time will let you know if you and your partner can trust each other with each others hearts. I should mention that in four to six months most people know if marriage is a possibility or not in their relationships…….I did :-) Yaya - Jaters.com Admin www.jaters.com - Free jewish dating, jewish singles & jewish matchmaking service Yair Czitrom is the owner and webmaster of http://www.jaters.com - An experienced online dater that took his dating knowledge and web skills to help other daters/singles in todays cyber world. Is Syndrome X the Reason You Can’t Lose Weight?

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By M Hogan It doesn’t matter how much I workout, I can’t lose weight. I’ve put on 40 pounds in one year! My doctor must think I’m eating snacks in the closet. There are close to 4 million Americans weighing in at over 300 pounds. Many of them are frustrated dieters who just can’t lose the weight. One of the main reasons for their frustration is known as Syndrome X. Syndrome X is also referred to as Metabolic Syndrome, Metabolic Syndrome X and Insulin Resistance. It is a very common disease; however it is widely overlooked by many medical professionals. One statistic reveals 1 in 3 people suffer from it. This syndrome is a precursor to developing Diabetes Type 2. Sufferers have a high level of insulin. Their bodies are unable to process all the insulin that is being made from their diet. As a result, they become insulin resistant. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas and is required to process glucose in the blood. When you have Syndrome X your body becomes resistant to that insulin and the body is unable to properly process the glucose in your blood. The main purpose of glucose is to be used as fuel for the cells in the body to produce energy. Unprocessed glucose translates into fat. If the body keeps making it and its not being processed, where does it go? Hips, thighs, stomach, and buttocks, that’s where! In addition to hypertension and heart disease, elevated insulin may be associated with weight gain and difficulty with weight loss, other blood sugar problems such as hypoglycemia, and some menstrual related imbalances. Genetics is partially responsible for causing this disease. More likely though is lifestyle. In many cases years of high starch, processed foods, simple sugars, lack of exercise, smoking, and increased stress may be the culprit for Metabolic Syndrome X. Now what? For starters, start exercising today. Increase water intake and totally omit starches, sugars, processed foods from your diet. Limit or omit caffeine. Try to maintain at least one third of your daily food intake to vegetables. Ask your doctor to test your sugar levels. Change what you’re eating and get walking and you’ll be amazed at the pounds start to fall off. The fatigue and fuzziness will start to disappear and in turn you’ll feel much better. Loving Your Spouse With Wisdom

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By Angie Lewis There are two ways we can love our spouse. We can love under our own understanding of what we think love is, or we can love the way God has directed us to love. I think we all know how to love, but doing it is a whole different matter. What is the difference between the two? The first way of loving is a condition and learned way to love, which is selfish and self-seeking. We don’t know we are behaving selfishly because we do not know any other way to love. The second way of loving is what comes naturally because we have loved and accepted God into our lives first. The reason it’s so natural is because we have recognized and utilized the spiritual Christ in our lives, which makes loving a natural process of who we are. It is very difficult to love another if we are only thinking about ourselves. Some examples of how we love our spouse selfishly are, committing adultery, being disrespectful, using controlling behavior, using negative feelings, becoming resentful, becoming ensnared in an addiction, and the list goes on. False teachings on marriage and loose morals in society have caused many couples to become bitter and apprehensive when loving one another. Society has lost the value of what real love is and it has tainted couples into sinful behavior. As we all know sin dampens our love for God by turning our focus on ourselves. You cannot truly love your spouse if you only think of yourself. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church without stain, or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In the same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. Ephesians 5:25-28 1. A Husband should be willing to sacrifice everything for his wife just as Jesus Christ sacrificed everything for us. Do you think a husband who loves God will be able to make his wife the most important aspect of his life? 2. A Husband should make his wife’s well-being of prime importance. Do you think that if a man accepts Christ into his life he will know how to love, protect, provide and care for his wife properly? God will give him the answers he needs. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24 As you can see from scripture, both husband and wife are called to submit. For the wife, this means willingly following her husband’s leadership in Christ. For the husband, it means putting aside his own interests in order to care for his wife properly. This means doing whatever it takes to protect, provide, love, and care for his wife under the “spiritual authority” given to him by God. If a husband does not accept the “spiritual authority” of God, then he has no justification to think that his wife submit to him the way God intends for a woman to submit to her husband. Obviously they are not basing their love under the foundations of Jesus Christ, but under their own understanding of what they think love is, and this scripture, therefore, does not apply to them. Here is what couples usually tell me when they are going through difficulties in their marriage. They want to do what is right for their marriage. They are willing to work at the marriage but don’t know what to do about their problems. Their negative feelings bring them down, and they are usually upset and furious over the iniquities and faults of one another. The problem is couples are basing their marriage upon worldly views, attitudes, and thoughts, and the fact is, as long as they continue to do so, they will continue to have difficulties loving their spouse properly. When we are not motivated by love, we become critical of our spouse. We stop looking for the good things in those we love and only see their faults. We can all talk about how to love and we know what the bible says about loving our spouse, but what about doing what it says! Bottom line is real love takes effort, and if the willingness is not there to work on marriage and to love our spouse with the love that comes natural, couples will have problems. The good news is you can love your spouse naturally and wholly by recognizing and utilizing the foundations of God’s design into your relationship and working off of that for your marriage. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. The Importance Of Accreditation With An Online Degree

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Michael Perry These days, there is no shortage of ways to obtain an online degree. Years ago, the only way to earn a valid degree was to leave home and spend years on a college campus. Fortunately for individuals who work full-time jobs, entrepreneurs who work at home or those with families, this policy is now completely changed. An online degree is achieved through courses taught by mail, which includes textbooks and test sheets being shipped to the student for his/her review. In return, the student completes the answer sheet for each course and returns it to the college. Online degree colleges, which specialize in this type of online degree completion program, offer a choice of programs ranging from career diplomas to a bachelors degree. When it comes to an online degree, it is critical that the potential student research the accreditation granted to the institution. Many are accredited by the DETC (Distance Education Training Council) but this, alone, is not usually enough to guarantee valid transfer credits to another university. Students who are looking for a single career diploma or specialized degree will find that many of these online degree colleges are more than fine. However, for those who wish to later transfer college credits to a local university, may find that these credits are not accepted. Many online degree colleges are nationally accredited, which is very respectable. In order for college credits to be transferred to another university, however, the credits require regional accreditation. The reason is because schools want to make sure that college transfer credits are taught with the same expertise as other local schools, which is why regional accreditation is so critical in the search for an online degree. With that in mind, there are a number of benefits linked to online degree colleges. Among them, the opportunity to work at your own pace and without any restrictions, the convenience of studying at home or wherever is most comfortable. If you want to do your classwork in the park, go for it Maybe the beach? Why not With an online degree program, the choice is yours. Prior to enrolling in an online degree college, potential students are urged to research the schools background, number of years in business and their satisfaction report with the local Better Business Bureau. In addition, learning about their completion timeline, fees, refund policy and actual courses available are additional factors to consider with any online degree program.
