2 Reasons Why God Tests Us

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Daniel N. Brown We all know that athletes need endurance training for physical stamina and mental toughness. When game time arrives, he or she will be ready to do battle and will have a greater chance at victory. If the athlete does not go through the necessary preparedness, he or she may not even be allowed into the game. It’s the same in our walk with God. We really shouldn’t expect that we can just ask God for some great position in life with out any preparation. It’s the tests and trials that He allows us to go through that are what prepare us for the greater things He has in store in the future. There are two reasons why God tests us. The first reason is: 1. To Produce Patience James 1:2-3 tells us, “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. There is a huge misunderstanding of what the word “patience” actually means. Most people will say that it means to “wait.” But, that’s not true. If you look up the word “patient” in Webster’s Dictionary it actually means to bear trials without complaining. God doesn’t want to hear someone complain anymore than you want to hear someone complain. Not only that, but complaining only reinforces your situation. Whatever you talk about and focus on becomes magnified. God uses tests and trials to bring patience into our lives because He wants us to develop a good attitude. A good attitude then, will make us the kind of person God can use. We will become perfect and complete, lacking nothing. The second reason God tests us is: 2. To Make You Perfect, Complete, and Lacking Nothing James 1:4 says, “Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” God sometimes allows storms into our lives to test us so that He may accomplish a purpose in us. And, that purpose is to prepare us for greater things (Psalm 107). If you’re facing some challenges in your life today, just ask God to hold you up, strengthen you, and help you learn what He is trying to teach you. Keep in mind that not all storms in your life are from God. Many times, you can create your own storms by making poor decisions. The best thing to do in these cases is to ask God to help you learn from your mistakes. God can use your own storms to teach you things and use them to bring you increase. Always remember Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.” Be encouraged if things are not what you think they should be. God has a wonderful plan for your life and He may just be working on the inside of you right now. Maybe you’re just learning patience. If you’ve already learned patience, maybe patience is having it’s perfect work, making you perfect and complete, to where you will lack nothing. Copyright 2006 Daniel N Brown Daniel N. A Moment in the Shepherd’s Life With Jesus

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Ravi Akella Tobias Ben David, in short, Toby the shepherd spent his entire life of forty years on the outdoors of Bethlehem hills, looked old. Ever so often, Toby used to shift his position out of his discomfort with too much crowdedness, had one day, and left the people to listen to their teacher. Today, the teacher is talking about salvation, Why God came to save his people from their sins and waywardness and how can these people get back together and live peacefully? The teacher was none other than JESUS himself. He began his illustration starting with the shepherd and the sheep.JESUS started, The man who is hired to take care of the sheep runs away if he sees a danger coming in front of him, but not the good shepherd who loves his flock of sheep because he knows defending the defenseless lambs, the attacking wolves or the mountain lion. This actually happened to be an incident in Tobys life. One night, many years ago, Toby hired some men to watch the flock along with him. They soon ran away seeing a mountain Lion roaming the hills. But Toby stayed back. He knew the sacrificesThat shepherding required. And he risked his life to protect them. And so Jesus continued Suppose you loose one of the hundred sheep you have. What do you do?You leave the ninety-nine sheep all safe together in a very safe place and then search until you find the lost sheep.Once you find it, there is no limit to your happiness and you share this happiness with fellow shepherds. Its the same with GOD, When you are in trouble to find the right way, HE will help you in some or the other way and never gives up until you are met by HIM Toby, who patiently listened to all this, felt a lump in his throat, was completely relaxed at the way JESUS illustrated. A shepherd is a rescuer, a savior, who lays down his life for the sheep, come to me, all you who are weary people, you the people who have trouble to find the route, I will give you the rest because I AM gentle and humble in heart, I relax you out of stress, your tensions, your confusions, because I can show you that your goal can be reached by several ways!!!!! Need to Hire a Lawyer, Understand the Fee Options First

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Aaron Brooks Personally as well as for business dealings one needs a lawyer. And, a lawyer must always be selected with great care. And the first thing to do is agree on fees. There are no recommended fee schedules but if a survey is made in your local area you will realize that there is a flexible fee schedule in place. Fees vary depending on the practice and the intricacies of the case on hand. Law means long hours of research and study as well as a lot of time spent filing papers and appearing in court. In general there are four ways in which lawyers compute fees: By the hour: in this arrangement a lawyer will bill by the hour for time spent on your case by himself, his assistance, as well as office staff. The computing will include: drafting of documents, faxes, phone calls, locating and briefing witnesses, time spent at court and meetings, research, leg work, filing fees, deposition costs, expert witness fees, travel expenses, sheriffs fees, bail bondsmen costs, transcript fees and so on. Contingent Fees: Normally applied in personal injury, social security, and collection cases. Not applicable in criminal or divorce cases. In this the lawyer will get between 25-40% of the recovered or settled amount. In this too the client is billed for out of pocket expenses, which includes long-distance calls, filing fees, and depositions. Flat fees: In this a consolidated amount is decided on between the client and lawyer. The flat fee includes all costs and there are no out of pocket expenses. Percentage fee: This is applied in the management of estates and buying or selling of homes. The fee for completing all legal functions will be a percentage of the total value of the property or estate to be settled. Monthly retainer: This applies when a lawyer or his firm contract to carry out all legal work required by a corporation, business, or individual. When the expected billing is continuous and quite substantial such an arrangement is made. In this case, a whole bouquet of legal services is carried out for a fixed monthly payment. It is important to discuss the cost of legal services in detail during the initial interview itself. Ask for an estimate and prepare a memo of understanding. Decide on: Retainer fees. Billing cycles and itemization of bill. Conditions under which the fees will be revised. If all matters are clear then there should be no disputes at all over fees. Ask the lawyer to explain the different fee options in detail and recommend which one would be most suitable in your case. Make sure you understand what the cost of legal fees will entail. And agree on a suitable payment schedule preferably as and when a part of the work is completed. How To Use Embossing Powders

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Vicki Churchill Using embossing powders for your card making ideas is just one of the versatile techniques commonly used by crafters. Embossing powders are a wonderful addition to and card makers or scrap bookers craft box. Embossing powders come in a huge variety of colours and textures and can easily be used by beginners and professional for card making ideas Using embossing powders for your projects can create many different effects but you will need to purchase a few basic materials. The main item you will need to be able to use your embossing powders is a heat gun, these can be found at most craft stores or stamp companies. Some heat guns are better than others, when you are purchasing a heat gun it is worth asking for recommendations from other experts that have used them for their card making ideas. You will need to have an ink pad, ink pads come in many different colors I find it best to use the same colour ink pad as the embossing powder you are going to use, this will eliminate the ink showing through. You can always use a clear ink pad however if you are a beginner I would start with a color so you can see where you have stamped. Stamps - a stamp is essential when using embossing powders as this is the foundation of the design, rubber stamps can be found at craft shops and there are simply millions that can be bought over the internet. Of course you will need embossing powder, again these come in a huge variety of colours, try to math the colour with the theme of the stamp where possible. To begin embossing it is advisable to wipe the area where you are going to stamp with an anti static bag, I also find a light dusting of bathroom talc works just as well. Once the area is prepared it is time to ink your stamp. Choose your colour of ink preferably clear but if you are new to card making ideas then a matching color to your embossing powder will be fine. Always take your ink pad to the stamp rather than pressing the stamp into the ink pad, this will give the stamp an even coating. Once you have inked your stamp you can then press it firmly onto your project, hold your hand flat over the stamp to ensure the entire image is printed, press firmly using the palm of your hand, lift the stamp carefully away from the project and make sure you are happy with the result. Carefully undo the lid of the embossing powder and generously sprinkle over the stamped image, if you are using a tidy try all the excess embossing powder can be easily tipped back into the pot, I find a folded piece of paper works just as well. Gently tap the back of the project or card making ideas to allow any excess embossing powder to come off if you can see any odd bits of embossing powder still in places it should not be use a small paint brush to gently remove it. Use your heat gun to heat the image until it turns shiny, hold your heat gun approximately 6 inches from the paper sweeping backwards and forwards until you see the embossing powder melting. Do not over heat the image as you can cause the paper and embossing powder to burn. Once you are happy that all the embossing powder had melted you are done. Step back and admire your finished project. Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Mindi Haehl Natural weight loss Many forms of obesity stem from an unhealthy lifestyle and diet. Many times the addition of a healthy supplement that can add essential vitamins can help regulate weight and weight loss. Many times substances marketed as weight loss supplements just add one more unhealthy product to your diet. Weight loss should be natural. Keeping the weight off should be natural too. That is why I am here to tell you that there is a natural food that can be added to your diet every day and can decrease cholesterol, help you lose weight and give you healthier hair and skin. These are the benefits of the flax seed. What makes flax seed work? First and foremost flax seed is high in low density fiber. That is to say that flax seed contains less calories per gram than most foods. You can eat a lot without hitting your daily calorie limit. On top of that the fiber makes you feel full longer by stabilizing blood sugar levels. Polyunsaturated fats that are provided by flax seed help with feeling full longer. These are the good fats necessary for weight loss. (These are not the fats found in french fries) Is it easy to add to your diet? For those that want to lose weight by adding flax seed to their diet it is quite simple. Just grind and add to any food. The simplest way to get going is to purchase a flax starter kit. With one of these you get two months worth of seed, a handheld grinder and a “How to” book that will give you recipes, diet ideas and all kinds of great tips. These kits should sell for about thirty dollars. For a new healthy diet geared towards losing weight and feeling better flax seed is what you need. Tips Regarding Interest Only Loans

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Alan_Jason_Smith]Alan Jason Smith What are interest-only loans? How are they structured and who are they right for? How do you avoid common mistakes people make when choosing interest-only loans? Loans with the option of paying only the interest every month are called interest-only loans. These loans allow you to pay on the principal balance only when you want to or when it is convenient for you. Most interest-only (IO) loans carry this option to pay the interest only for a limited amount of time, usually from 5 to 10 years. The remaining principal balance comes due at the end of the term. IO loans can be a good choice for borrowers whose incomes tend to fluctuate from month to month. However, this aspect of IO loans can be a pitfall for borrowers who are not disciplined enough to pay on the principal when they are not required to do so.. Borrowers who expect to see an increase in their income during the term of the loan should consider loans with IO options. First time homebuyers can also benefit from IO loans, if they expect to upgrade from their starter home to a bigger home soon. Another advantage of interest-only loans is that they require lower initial payments, which means borrowers can qualify for larger loan amounts than loans without interest-only options. Is your home going to be your top priority investment, or do you want more cash to direct to other investments that offer higher returns? If you invest in stocks or your own business, and interest-only loan might be the right option for you. Just make sure your investments are yielding a higher return than the interest rate on your IO loan. Are you expecting to resell your home during the term of the IO loan for a profit? Is the market you are looking to buy in rapidly appreciating? If so, an interest-only loan might be the right choice for you. Interest only loans do carry risks, and borrowers must understand these risks if they are to take advantage of IO options. What if you do not see the increase in income you expected? What if you cannot sell your home later for a profit, or what if the market does not appreciate as much as you expected? What if the market depreciates? There are dishonest lenders out there, and they often deceive borrowers when it comes to interest-only loans. One common deception is that lenders lead borrowers to believe that the interest rate on an IO loan is lower than the interest rate on loans without an interest-only option. This is not the case. IO loans carry higher risks for the lender, so they always carry higher interest rates. Dishonest lenders sometimes deceive borrowers into thinking that they can avoid buying mortgage insurance by choosing an interest-only loan. Again, because IO loans are high-risk for the lender, the borrower is always required to carry mortgage insurance. Comparing different types of loans is the most important step in choosing the best loan for you. Every situation is unique, and understanding how loans are structured will help you make the right decision. Identify your goals, and you will be able to identify the right loan to help you reach them. Lavender: The Amazing Flower That Dates Back To The Ancient Egyptians

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Antony Wilton Can you imagine a flower that is a source of all purpose essential oils for skin care, pain relief, wound healing, relief for burns and skin diseases, plus so much more? These are just some of the attributes of the attractive pleasant smelling purple colored flower known as lavender. The name Lavender is derived from the Latin word lavera meaning to wash, and has gained the reputation as possibly the greatest multipurpose source of natural essential oils ever found. Think for a moment that this is not some chemically produced substance, but a natural product that can be acquired without prescription and the cost is considered quite economical. lavender essential oils are also used as a deodorant, fungicide, antiseptic, insect repellent, and anti inflammatory. lavender is also highly regarded for treating many skin complaints including acne, itchy or cracked skin, acne, blisters, warts, abscesses, boils, and eczema, It is also prized for its nerve calming properties, and is known to restrict swelling and inflammation and speed up healing of minor burns. Originally from England, Lavandula angustifolia is the most common strain of lavender and often referred to as true lavender. True lavender has the botanical name of Clavandula as the prefix. Around fifty distinct species of lavender grow throughout the world, including lavandula vera and lavandula officinalis. lavandula angustifolia is the most sought after variety because of the low concentration of camphor retained after distillation. This gives the essential oils derived from it a strong floral aroma, and also makes it perfectly effectual in aromatherapy where it is highly regarded for quickening the healing of minor burns. Lavandin (lavandula intermedia) is a hybrid variety which is produced mainly in France by crossing true lavender with spike lavender (lavender latifolia) lavandin is generally larger than true lavender and easily identified by its woody stems. Its flowers range in color from blue like true lavender to grey. Spike Lavender, or lavandula latifolia is often referred to as Spanish lavender, as it is common there, and also prolific in the Mediterranean countries. The essential oils from this plant are found to retain a higher percentage of camphor than that found in true lavender The first recorded cultivation of Lavender was found to be by ancient Egyptians who held it in high regard, using it to produce soothing and healing ointments and perfume. It was also used by the Egyptians as a balm for mummification and the perfume has been found in tombs, including that of Tutankhamen. Lavender has certainly stood the test of time, and is used commonly in perfume for women and after shave for men.The uses and benefits of lavender do not stop with fragrances however.Lavender essential oils are recommended for relieving the pain of minor burns and cuts, and are perfect for treating sunburn and insect bites. Even headaches can be treated by massaging lavender oil on the neck and temples. Lavender and relaxation are words that are synonymous, and its benefits and uses in aromatherapy are enough to fill a book. Unlike many essential oils, lavender can be used undiluted, as allergic reactions to it are rare. If you are just beginning your journey with this amazing flower, a wealth of experiences await you.Whether you use it for a relaxing addition to a soothing bath, or as a soothing, rejuvenating skin treatment, be prepared to be amazed by this versatile plant Antony Wilton was so impressed with the powers of lavender, that he devoted a website to it http://www.lavenderessentialoils.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Antony_Wilton http://EzineArticles.com/?Lavender:-The-Amazing-Flower-That-Dates-Back-To-The-Ancient-Egyptians&id=292773 mixing xanax and ambien how long does lorazepam stay in your system overdose on ativan ambien online order cheapest

Hand Made Dramatic Cut-Away Greeting Card

By Kira Enari Create a dramatic hand-made greeting card with a rubber stamp and white pigment ink, using black card-stock on white card-stock. This simple project gets maximum Wow! for only a little effort. The cut-out technique may be incorporated into scrapbook pages for truly impressive results. Just stamp, cut-cut-cut, and glue! Supplies Rubber Stamp (2″ or larger recommended)White Pigment Ink PadScrap Paper5 1/2 x 4 1/4″ black card stock5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ white card stock, scored to fold into 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ cardBottled Stamp CleanerPaper TowelsClean, dry paint pad (optional)Craft KnifeCutting MatGlue Stick Lay down scrap paper to protect the work surface. Stamp image onto black card stock using the white pigment ink. Whether the image is centered or placed to one side or the other is a matter of personal preference. No matter where the image is stamped, the card will turn out spectacular. Allow the stamped image to dry, or heat set with a heat embosser or even a blow dryer. Clean the rubberstamp using the bottled stamp cleaner. Open the bottle, tap it onto the stamp so that the rubber is saturated. Tap the stamp onto a paper towel to remove the pigment. Repeat if necessary. Scrub the rubber stamp on the paint pad to thoroughly remove any pigment residue. Tap the stamp cleaner onto a paper towel to remove any pigment on it. Keeping your stamps clean ensures the next color used will be free of other pigment and will also prolong the stamp’s life. When the image is dry enough to handle, place the black card stock on the cutting mat. Make sure the craft knife blade is very sharp so the cuts will be clean. Holding the card stock steady with one hand, begin making random cut-outs in the card stock around the stamped image. When cutting, hold the craft knife so that the blade is as close to horizontal with the paper as possible–this maximizes the cutting edge contact to make cutting easier. Start about 1/4″ away from the image and cut out triangles, stripes or even boxes, keeping the cut-outs similar in shape and size while working out to the edge of the cardstock. Leave about a 1/4″ margin for a border. It isn’t necessary to measure or be exact, just fairly consistent. Turn the black card stock over onto a piece of scrap paper so that the image is facing down. Hold the card stock steady with one hand and run the glue stick over the back of the black card stock. Carefully lift the black carstock and position glue-side down on the outside of the white cardstock card. Press firmly in the center and out to the edges, pushing out any air bubbles. Try the cut-out technique using different colors of paper and ink. This cut-away technique also works nicely to frame a picture, or even overlay an entire image.
